This year, for the first time, a true celebration for observers of kashrut will take place – two whole weeks of culinary events between the 2nd and the 14th of November, as part of this year’s “Chef Tochal” festival, in its autumnal, kosher version.
During the festival, for two weeks, tens of kosher restaurants around the country will offer menus of an 89 shekels-per-diner meal that will include a starter, a main course and dessert.
Among the restaurants who participate in the festival is the 11th Floor restaurant, located at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Azrieli, Tel Aviv, led by chef Asaf Mishkovsky as one of the city’s leading kosher restaurants. The restaurant is designed in a light and clean hi-tech style, combining glass, wood and the urban landscape seen from the tower’s 11th floor.
Among the dishes that will be served during the festival: Eggplant carpaccio with halva strings, tartar of red tuna on a bruschetta, salmon with roasted vegetables or aged entrecote with port sauce for the meat lovers, and a chocolate soufflé dessert.
Other restaurants which participate include: Mamilla Café and Brasserie in Jerusalem, Ashdod’s Aladdin Bashdera restaurant, Cadita, Endive in Ashdod, Gazpacho, River B.S.R, several Black restaurants and many others. Have a look at the website for more information.
