Foodography dinners in collaboration with Meir Adoniby Sarit Goffen | 05.04.15
In the last two years it seems we all became food photographers. We take pictures of the food we make in our home kitchen, the slice of pizza we eat at the local pizza place, our morning coffee and our diner’s leftover at the chef’s restaurant. We all pull out our smartphones even before we take our first bite, snap a picture and upload it.
Facebook and Instagram are filled with millions of enticing and delicious looking food shots uploaded by amateurs and professionals alike.
Carmel vineyards, along with Bauman Bar Ribnay advertising agency, decided to embrace the food photography trend and take it a few steps further, with a one of a kind project. The project provides us with a culinary experience that’s totally unique – Foodography.
For this project they have enlisted the help of the chef Meir Adoni, a leading figure in the Israeli gourmet culinary scene, Dan Peretz, a top food photographer and dinnerware designer and the artist Adi Nissani. Together they have created an experience that is a combination of an exciting and virtuoso tasting dinner, which takes place at Chef Adoni’s restaurant, Catit, and is inspired by Carmel Vineyard’s wines. During the dinner, the participants will take part in Dan Peretz’s photography workshop. Each dish of the dinner, apart from using elements of wine, describes and teaches different aspects of food photography and helps the diners to understand how to amplify and enhance his pictures in just a few short steps, using only smartphones.
All the dinnerware we especially designed for the project by Adi Nissani and were created in order to enhance the photography experience, making smartphone photography into art.
Naturally the dinner is accompanied by the Carmel Vineyard’s exclusive wine series – single vineyards – that are costume tailored to suit each dish.
This is a treat for all senses.
Foodography dinners will be held at 24/4 and 16/9 for the general public. Registration will be made through the project’s site or at Catit restaurant.
